Cutting Technologies
OSL Cutting Technologies is a Sheffield-based metal cutting tool manufacturer with a heritage dating back to 1865. OSL Cutting Technologies has grown through a mixture of acquisitions and integration of businesses. This growth and investment of complementary companies have focused on globally known and respected complementary products with a Sheffield base.
OSL Cutting Technologies has developed into one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of high-speed metal cutting tools with a product range including annular cutters, magnetic drilling machines, step drill cutting tools, construction reamers, and machine spares and accessories. Its brands include Rotabroach, G&J Hall, Taylor and Jones, and Unibor. OSL Cutting Technologies employs more than 100 people from its base in Sheffield.
Following the 2019 acquisition of Universal Drilling and Cutting Equipment, OSL Cutting Technologies now owns and operates five manufacturing businesses from the company head office in Sheffield. OSL Cutting Technologies has sites in Attercliffe, Sheffield, and Chicago, USA.
OSL Cutting Technologies has achieved substantial international presence and growth through a global network of distributors covering all continents. All our distribution is operated from the Sheffield manufacturing base, The City of Steel. The products made by the company are recognised globally. With the heritage of some of the acquired businesses, we have an established customer base with trusted brands renowned for quality metal cutting products.
The original name in hole cutting systems – the Rotabroach product range includes: Magnetic Drills, Annular Cutters, Saw Blades, Chop Saws and more. The products have been developed through years of experience and engineering capabilities. Our products are all specifically designed for Rotabroach with robustness, quality and value for money in mind. All of our products are rigorously tested on a regular basis against both our own standards and competitor products to ensure we are leading the way with our comprehensive product range.
Unibor is the flagship American brand of OSL Cutting Technologies, which acquired Unibor’s parent company (Universal Drilling & Cutting Equipment) in 2019. Unibor take our range of power tools and power tool accessories to the US market, with an office based outside of Chicago and stocking warehouses in Texas and California.
